FELDSPAR

FELDSPAR

Ceramics • Glass • Filler

Feldspar (soda/white, potassium, or green/red) is a key mineral used in ceramics, glass, and as a filler in paints and plastics—enhancing strength, durability, and thermal resistance while acting as a flux to lower melting temperatures.

TYPES OF FELDSPAR

Orthoclase Feldspar

Potassium-rich feldspar

Primarily used in ceramics and glass manufacturing for its fluxing properties and ability to improve product strength and durability.

Plagioclase Feldspar

Sodium & calcium-rich series

Common in ceramics, glass, and as an abrasive in industrial applications.

Microcline Feldspar

Potassium feldspar variant

Used in glass and ceramics; gemstone variety known as Amazonite.

Albite

Sodium-rich feldspar

Valued in ceramics and glass for high strength, whiteness, and chemical stability.

Anorthite

Calcium-rich plagioclase

Favoured in ceramics for heat-resistant properties and dimensional stability.

USES OF FELDSPAR

Ceramics

Acts as a flux in tiles, tableware, and sanitary ware—improving strength, durability, and vitrification.

Glass Manufacturing

Used in containers, flat glass, and fiberglass—enhancing hardness, clarity, and resistance to thermal shock.

Paints & Coatings

Performs as a filler to improve stability, chemical resistance, and hardness.

Plastics & Rubber

Adds strength and stability as a consistent performance filler.

Abrasives

Used in sandpapers and grinding wheels thanks to hardness and durability.

GRADES OF FELDSPAR

Ceramic Grade Feldspar

Higher alumina & silica; improves strength, durability, and vitrification in tiles, tableware, and sanitary ware.

Glass Grade Feldspar

High-purity flux to lower melting point—enhances hardness, clarity, and thermal-shock resistance.

Abrasive Grade Feldspar

Optimized hardness for polishing & finishing in sandpapers and grinding media.

Filler Grade Feldspar

For paints, plastics & rubber—boosts stability, hardness, and chemical resistance.

High-Purity Feldspar

Refined for special applications requiring very low impurities (select ceramics, certain glass types, electronics).
